The Associate in Applied Science major in Criminal Justice Technology program prepares graduates for jobs in various law enforcement areas. Other job options include courts, correctional facilities, and business/retail security. Personal traits such as honesty, sound judgment, integrity, and a sense of responsibility are especially important in the law enforcement field. People who have a desire to help others and have strong communication skills may be interested in this field. People who work in law enforcement agencies are subject to criminal background and credit history checks, polygraph examinations, and drug screenings.
